Dar al-Magana, constructed in the 14th century in Fes, Morocco, was commissioned by the Marinid Sultan Abu Inan Faris. This historic structure is renowned for housing a water clock powered by weights. Situated across from the Bou Inania Madrasa on Tala'a Kebira street, Dar al-Magana was specifically built to serve the madrasa and its accompanying mosque, which were both erected by Abu Inan during the same period. Interestingly, the building is sometimes known as the 'House of Maimonides'' due to a popular legend that suggests it was once the residence of the renowned Jewish philosopher Maimonides.
The clock at Dar al-Magana comprises 12 windows and platforms that hold brass bowls. It is believed that the clock's movement was facilitated by a small cart that moved horizontally behind the twelve doors. One end of the cart was connected to a rope with a hanging weight, while the other end was connected to a rope with a floating weight placed on the surface of a regularly draining water reservoir.

Additionally, the facade boasted intricate carvings in stucco surrounding the windows, as well as sculpted arabesque and epigraphic motifs on the wooden rafters and corbels.
